This piece and its "brother" piece were started sometime back in November, I think. I wanted to depict Sesshoumaru in a realistic style, and also as a child. I am very pleased with how this turned out. I worked on it and the other piece simultaneously, as it seemed appropriate to post my artwork of the two brothers at the same time. The two pieces are the culmination of 4 months work.
I actually sort of want to do more of these Inuyasha-character-realistic-child-portraits, but considering how long these took, it'll be a long while before you see any more of them. I'm thinking maybe a realistic portrait of Shippou might be fun, though no de-aging is needed there. We'll see. I'm especially fond of the eyes and the hair. And yes, I used the same fabric pattern idea for Sesshoumaru in this piece as I did in Ambush. Now, does anyone want to explain to me why it is that Sesshoumaru looks best in the girliest colours and patterns known to man, but somehow still manages to look like a boy? Head over to view Inuyasha-chan. Comments
Thank you for your kind comment! It may be a while before I can post any more of these, but I definitely want to.
-- "In slow motion the flowers fell from my hand and shattered like glass, and when I looked into the mirror, I was a beautiful milk maid. Then I woke up crying, and I don't know why." -- Snape, Potter Puppet Pals The more intense lighting suits this picture. I'm very fond of his eyes and expression. You're not quite sure whether he's happy, content, broading or observing.
as for the girly fabrics....dunno....I think he just commands so much respect that it doesn't really matter. That and the colors go nicely with his markings again, I link the lips. I hope more people happen to come across this. -- Are you an Avatard that likes NonCanon and Crack? Join ~AvatarNonCanon Thanks! I think the time I invested really paid off. I also love how his expression turned out. I just can't figure out why putting him in girly fabrics and surrounding him with delicate cherry blossoms doesn't end up making him look overly girly. By all rights, he should, but somehow it just... works!
Anyway, I'm glad you like it! -- "In slow motion the flowers fell from my hand and shattered like glass, and when I looked into the mirror, I was a beautiful milk maid. Then I woke up crying, and I don't know why." -- Snape, Potter Puppet Pals |
